Our Breast Unit is one of the largest in the UK.
Most patients are directly referred by their GPs for diagnosis and treatment, and for surveillance if at high risk. Patients are treated in multi-disciplinary clinical teams working to common clinical guidelines and protocols.
The Unit has a major commitment to research into early diagnosis, new treatments and the prevention of breast cancer, with excellent links with the Christies Manchester and UHSM screening service to ensure an overall better treatment for our patients.
The Unit’s aim is to deliver the latest high-quality treatment for all stages of breast cancer, and to be at the forefront of international research into the development of new treatments, in the identification of women at high risk and in breast cancer prevention.
