Paediatric Speech and Language Therapies Service

The Paediatric Speech and Language Therapies Service assesses speech, language, communication and feeding needs of children and provides a range of interventions to address the identified needs of children, families and others who work with children.

The service is high quality, evidence based and cost effective. Working in partnership with children, young people, parents/carers and colleagues, the service meets their speech, language, communication and feeding needs in a range of environments.

What does our Service provide?

We provide a service to children and their parents/carers all over Salford, in various settings including clinics, mainstream schools, Language Resourced Classrooms, Special Schools, the Children’s Hospital, a variety of Early Years Settings and in the community.

Speech and Language Therapists are the specialists in speech, language and communication disorders. We also work with children who have eating and swallowing difficulties.

Speech and Language Therapists assess, diagnose and develop a programme of therapy or care to help clients develop their communication or eating/swallowing skills to their potential.

We work in close partnership with patients, families/carers and professionals from many different organisations.

Referrals

We accept referrals from families/carers, Health Visitors, GP’s, Teachers and other professionals.
