Salford Royal apprenticeships approved

Salford Royal has been added to the national Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers and will be able to increase the amount of apprenticeship training it offers.

As part of national apprenticeship reforms to encourage greater use of apprenticeships, the Trust had to apply to the Skills Funding Agency to be included in the Register of Apprenticeship Training Providers (RoATP). The Trust had to demonstrate that it is able to provide high quality apprenticeship training to staff. Being on the register means Salford Royal can continue to provide apprenticeship training to current staff, and can also start to deliver many more apprenticeship training options across the Trust.

The apprenticeships we currently provide, or plan to provide in the future, include: Business Administration, Accountancy, Customer Services, Allied Health Care Support, Clinical Health Care, Health and Social Care, Catering, Health Care Support Services, Cleaning Support Services, Pharmacy, Pathology/labs, Management, Perioperative. There are also some very exciting developments in the field of nursing including Nurse Degree apprenticeships.  The Vocational Team is happy to consider others which managers feel meet the development needs of our staff.

Kathryn Davies, Workforce Transformation Lead, said: “We have been seeing a real upsurge in enquiries about apprenticeships from managers across the Trust, so this news comes at a great time. Becoming a registered apprenticeship training provider will allow us to develop our current and future workforce, and will ultimately enhance the care we are able to provide for our patients.”
