Customer care services

Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS)

PALS offers support and assistance to patients, relatives and visitors such as:

  • providing information on hospital services
  • any problems or queries you may have
  • listening to your views on how we can improve our services
  • helping with interpreters, signers and other support services.


PALS is situated at entrance 4 near the outpatient department and is open from 8.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday apart from bank holidays. You can telephone PALS on 0161 206 2003.


Hospital facilities

There are several cafés serving refreshments:

  • Ground Cafe, Hope Building, is open Monday-Friday 7.30am-8pm and Saturday-Sunday 8am-8pm
  • Ground coffee pod, is open Monday-Friday 8am-5pm
  • Stott’s Bistro, CSB Building, is open 8am – 2pm Monday to Friday
  • RVS Cafe, Level 1, Ladywell Building, is open 8am – 8pm Monday to Friday and 8am – 3pm on Saturdays.


Other facilities include:

  • the Hope Building shopping area includes an M&S Simply Food outlet, The Stock Shop (clothing), WH Smiths and the Coffee Pod

  • two cash machines situated in the atrium, Level 1, Hope Building

  • pay phones situated around the hospital


Wheelchairs are available at Entrance 4 (Red Area).  You will require a £1 coin to obtain a wheelchair which is refundable on its return.


Hospital chapel/ prayer room

The chapel is located on the third floor of the Hope Building and is open from early morning to evening.
